R.I.D.P.A.: Rural Integrated Development Program of Africa

The Rural Integrated Development Program of Africa (RIDPA) is a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, MN. RIDPA employees and volunteers work together to help families and individuals dealing with extreme poverty and health issues in rural Africa.

RIDPA is currently operating in Tanzania and East Congo, helping real people deal with real issues.

RIDPA is working in partnership with Fifty Lanterns. Click here to visit their website.

  • Government organizations in Africa focus primarily on towns and centers.

  • Civil wars in Burundi, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo have created homeless refugees and orphans.

  • Many villagers and refugees in rural Africa are not receiving government assistance.

  • Many people in rural Africa do not have basic human needs, such as clean water, food, medical care, and housing.

  • There are few medical facilities in rural Africa. Many patients, especially the young and the elderly, die on their way to distant medical centers.

  • HIV and AIDS cases have reached staggering proportions throughout Africa.

  • Every day, 1,000 children die from AIDS.

  • RIDPA works with volunteers and groups to help improve social conditions of impoverished people and to bring humanitarian relief to persons living in villages and refugee camps in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania.

Funding for RIDPA comes from volunteer support and contributions from organizations, companies, churches, and social ministries. RIDPA works with the Kids Worldwide Bridge to connect children of the world and to bridge the gaps of poverty, inequality, and ignorance.
